Started by Lt. Lala Maturam in 1958 at Old Mandi, Gohana, Sonipat District, Haryana, talks surrounding the unique sweetness of the Gohana Jalebi have reached far flung corners of the globe, bringing national and international attention. An invention of Maturam ji, the Gohana Jalebi, as the name suggests, is prepared in Gohana region of Sonipat, Haryana only in pure desi ghee with sheer uniformity in weight – 250 gms for one piece to ensure that each Jalebi maintains its trademark crispiness and softness. It may be consumed with curd in the morning, with rabdi and malai during the day and with milk at night.
